There is no title-page. Title and imprint appear on the front cover, and the index on the inside front cover. On page [I] is the note, ‘New edition – copyright 1953’. The book is first mentioned in the Piping Times for March 1954, where it is said to have appeared ‘this month’, but subsequently it was stated to have appeared in 1953, some time after the College of Piping Tutor (see Piping Times, February 1959).
This is in effect a new edition of How to play the Highland bagpipe (no. 350 above). The music has been completely reset, but many of the original tunes remain.
