This previously unknown book was advertised in the Edinburgh Courant 25 August 1817:

For many years Keith Sanger of Edinburgh, Scotland, has been actively researching 18th century piping and his diligence was rewarded when much new information about Donald MacDonald was discovered. In 1996 he wrote an article entitled Donald MacDonald that was published in the Piping Times Vol 49, No 1, October 1996, page 24, and contains the details of this book and also Instructions for the Highland, Lowland and the Northumberland Bagpipe by Donald MacDonald, 1808, (No 302a).
